*** CHICK PICK-UP will be at H&H FEED, 31011 Valley Center Rd., Valley Center CA 92082, WITH AN APPOINTMENT!!  Please do not just show up for your chicks! They may or may not be available. KEEP IN MIND: Hatch, Shipping and Arrival dates are Approximate! We must Confirm your little guys are here, healthy and ready BEFORE you make a drive. We're VERY busy and we may or may not be available/here at the time. Sometimes chick sorting, care and putting them away on arrival day takes hours of time. Please remember this is not the only thing we do here at the store and ranch, and we appreciate your patience. The chicks are NOT being housed at the Feed store at this time and none of our other employees are currently trained to go sort orders, pick breeds and gather the chicks.

AFTER YOU ORDER, You will be contacted within 1 or 2 days with a hatch date that all of your breeds line up on! The chicks you order may or may not be readily available the same week. If the date is more important than the breeds, we can swap breeds typically. If you have specific week/month Chick Arrival requests, please contact me FIRST to make sure we can accommodate. My Horse show and event schedule may conflict, and I block out certain weeks for orders. 

PROMPT pick up after arrival here is required unless other arrangements have been made ahead of time.

---> WHAT IF I GET A COCKEREL/ROOSTER ????   Sexing is roughly 90% accurate. There are "Auto-sexing" breeds, if interested, such as a Cream Legbar. Please do your research on those. I feel most of the chick sexing actually goes very well! That being said, if you suspect a rooster amongst your FEMALE chicks, let me know! I typically have females (pullets) to exchange out, which may or may not be of a similar breed, but will lay eggs for you. This exchange I urge sooner than later, as I usually run out of pullets later season. Must be exchanged by 3-4 months of age, depending on breed (some may be a little harder to tell).

LOSS:   I try my VERY hardest to stand behind our birds!! If you suffer loss within 2 days of pick up on DAY OLD chicks, please contact ASAP, please DO NOT wait. Please send photos of brooder set-up and chicks if having any issues, so we can help troubleshoot! I DO NOT Refund, I Replace with another chick, which may be of a different variety due to availability, but we can see if we can get more. If you have questions or concerns about this, please contact prior to ordering. I try to be very fair and hold policies that are a lot more forgiving than any other feed store that I know of.

ONCE CHICKS HAVE BEEN PAID FOR AND HAVE SENT TO US, FOR YOU, NO REFUNDS (They obviously can't be sent back or refused). The ONLY refunds I offer are on chicks that are DOA, Did Not arrive here OR are Not Well on Arrival and won't make it. I do work with customers on this however, we may be able to get extras or more the following week! Again, I try very hard to make sure you got what you needed.

PLEASE, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH ON CHICK REARING!!! I DO NOT Recommend HEAT PLATES as your sole source of heat, they Do Not heat the WHOLE brooder space, only underneath, and the chicks will not come out to eat. This can be detrimental and many lose chicks due to this. Chicks also need a light on in the room at all times. Birds are light driven, and chicks need to be encouraged to EAT & DRINK 24/7 at young ages.

Chicks will be on Chick Starter/Grower feed until around 5 months of age, or when you see the first egg!
